Clubs Within the Club

The University Club Ladies Book Club meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm in the Library.  Participants choose the book selections and a discussion leader is assigned for each meeting date.  Book Club is not exclusive and everyone is welcome to participate.  Appetizers are set up for attendees.

The University Club Ladies Marathon Bridge Group starts play in fall and always welcome new members. Currently, this group consists of 12 ladies that play 20 hands of contract bridge October through March with a luncheon in May. Minimal dues are used mainly for prizes at the luncheon. Level of play is intermediate to advanced.

The University Club Gin Rummy Competition Group hosts an annual tournament for interested Members. Each couple is told which other couples they will play during the year. The couples schedule their games at mutual convenience at the Club, preceded, followed or interrupted by lunch or dinner. Scores are computed according to The University Club's published rules. In May, a dinner meeting is held at which prizes from the entry fee are awarded. It’s a nice opportunity to meet more couples at the Club, or get to know them better, and lower your handicap at cards.

The Wine Society presents winemaker dinners and wine tastings throughout the year. Wine dinners showcase the outstanding cuisine of our team as paired with unusual and high-quality wines.  Society Members also benefit from deep discounts on fine wine through their access to the University Club Community Wine Cellar. The finer the wine, the more significant the savings. Separate annual fee applies.
